My journey began as a child attracted to colour, textures in fabric and the decor adults around me chose. However, connection to nature is my delight and will always be the strongest influence. From the banks of the Great Lakes, waters in the wilds of Northern Ontario, grandness of the Rockies and West Coast Island shores, nature is consistently inspirational.
Around the mid-seventies I was becoming more interested in producing art works. Self-directed explorations became prolific while being mindful that at the time I was pursuing a degree in English. After two years I ultimately entered the fine arts program and graduated with an honours degree along with being a recipient of a merit award from Emily Carr University of Art and Design.
The pursuit of one’s artistic expression is similar to choreographing a dance. The journey has its own rhythm whether it is calm and contemplative or excitedly pursuing visual expression. All the while affected by the challenges and successes of one’s personal passages. The forging ahead through those passages helped me personally to gain more of an understanding of what I wanted to explore visually, influencing my journey as an artist.
I have had the privilege of teaching gifted emerging artists. They all have a desire to paint, draw and express themselves visually. I will with their permissions post their works from time to time to show how proud I am of their progress.
This website is being created in order to join the internet community to showcase my personal on-going pursuit of visual art expression. I believe the arts in all its forms has purpose and is a necessary part of our human evolution as well as for our well-being.
Currently, this website is under construction. All inquiries at this time for sales and or commissions should be via e-mail: dianabliss44@gmail.com
The pursuit of my visual interpretation of the world around me has been a life-long joy. To expose your inner-most feelings and thoughts on surfaces is to have conviction of purpose.

Around the mid-seventies I became interested in producing more meaningful artworks and began self-directed explorations being mindful I was pursuing an English major. Passion for art won out and after three years of studies I switched over to the discipline of fine arts. I graduated achieving a Bachelor of Fine Arts, with Honours from Emily Carr University of Art and Design. I also earned a Merit Award.
The past seventeen years I have had the privilege of teaching enthusiastic, gifted, emerging artists who have a love of the arts, the desire to paint, draw and express themselves visually. It has been learning experience for me to be included on their journey of discovery.
Years later here I am learning how to join the internet community in order to showcase my own personal on-going pursuit of art expression.
The making of art in all its forms has a wide variety of purpose. I believe the arts are a necessary part of our well-being and a record of human evolution.
